A Staffordshire manufacturing company is set to clinch two export contracts worth more than a quarter of a million pounds after taking part in a global food and drink technology event.

Stainless steel fabrication firm Unitech Industries, in Prospect Road, Burntwood, exhibited its food technology products at Anuga FoodTec trade fair in Germany last month at a stand run by Advantage West Midlands.

Sales director John Armstrong believe the event was bringing "encouraging re-sults".

The firm is finalising details on an order for a one-off conveyor for a pan-European company, with potential for a repeat order for up to 20 conveyors, worth in excess of £185,000.

Unitech is also in negotiations to sign a contract worth up to £125,000 for a number of washing systems with a Middle Eastern firm after taking part in the trade fair.

Mr Armstrong said: "In addition, we are currently working on quotations for two firms in Saudi Arabia, one in the US and one in India."
