The crash happened just before 8.30pm yesterday on the southbound carriageway between junction 7 for Great Barr and junction 6 for Erdington.
The driver, a 36-year-old from Lichfield, was trapped upside down by her seatbelt and was removed on a spinal board but escaped serious injury. She was taken to City Hospital.
