Driver denies causing death of teenager

A driver today denied causing the death of a teenager who was killed in an accident involving a car towing a boat near Bewdley.

A driver today denied causing the death of a teenager who was killed in an accident involving a car towing a boat near Bewdley.

Mark Tissiman pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Sarah James by dangerous driving.

The accident on Dowles Road near Bewdley, happened as a boat was being towed on the back of a vehicle, on June 4th last year.

Miss James, aged 19, was a passenger in a Rover travelling in the opposite direction when the mast of the boat struck her on the head.

Miss James of Redstone Drive, Highley, near Bridgnorth, suffered multiple injuries.

Tissiman, aged 47, of Kidderminster Road, Bewdley, will stand trail at Worcester Crown Court on November 2.

Miss James is a former pupil of Oldbury Wells School in Bridgnorth.

In a statement issued by her family following her death they said Miss James had a thirst for adventure and described her as a much-loved daughter, sister, grandchild and niece with many friends at home, and abroad from her travelling experiences.
