If given the green light CC Contracting Ltd would leave its current rented accommodation behind.
Bosses want to demolish part of a vacant factory in Pedmore Road in Lye before rebuilding it as a permanent two-storey home. The firm, which is currently based at rented offices also in Pedmore Road, has bought the site and lodged a planning application for the scheme with Dudley Council.
Managing director Peter Child, aged 42, has revealed he hopes work will start as soon as June, with the new building ready to move into by Christmas. CC Contracting Ltd employs more than 30 staff and has now outgrown its present premises, he said.
"We have purchased the site with the intention of moving because of steady expansion," the father-of-three, who lives in Leamington Spa, said. "We are looking to pretty much double the space we have got and in doing it we are hoping to build something that looks nice in the area, taking down that tatty building that's there and putting something more attractive up.
"This will give us our own permanent base. We want to commit to this so we are ready for things picking up in a couple of years' time."
Under the proposals, an existing single storey part of the factory would be bulldozed while the remaining two floor unit would be converted and extended to create offices.
The reconstruction would leave space for on-site parking and a turning area for the firm's fleet of vehicles.
A design and access statement submitted as part of the planning application states the project would help the firm, which specialises in concrete construction work.
CC Contracting Ltd has been involved in building schemes with major businesses including Argos, Morrisons and Honda.
