Wolves cubs are already high-achievers – after an unprecedented seven Academy scholars were offered professional contracts.

Manager Mick McCarthy has given terms to defenders Johnny Dunleavy, Danny Batth and Scott Malone, midfielder David Davis and forwards Kyle Bennett, Sam Winnall and Ashley Hemmings.

This is the highest number of graduates in nine years and the most the club has had since attaining Academy status.

Malone and Hemmings – currently on loan to the end of the season with Hungarian partners Ujpest and League One Cheltenham respectively – have already signed deals to 2010 along with England age group player Bennett.

The club's previous record was four years ago when six made it through to the pro ranks – Wayne Hennessey, Mark Little, Daniel Jones, Mark Davies, Chris Cornes and Tom Stewart.
