A Bewdley Town Council member and former Town Mayor has resigned after moving to Droitwich.

Councillor Anthony Williams, Independent Community & Health Concern member, was elected to the Town Council in 2002 and served as Mayor of Bewdley in 2004.

He has also held a post as a district councillor and his resignation is expected to lead to a by-election.

Councillor Elizabeth Davies, leader of the Health Concern group, said: "Everyone would like to thank Tony for all his hard work."
