Another popular fast food restaurant in Sandwell is set to be given a six figure new look, it has been revealed.

Bosses at McDonald's announced earlier this month that they were planning on overhauling the branch at Brickhouse Lane South in Great Bridge and today revealed they are also looking at spending another £300,000 on improving the restaurant in Wolverhampton Road, Oldbury.

Planning permission is still to be granted for this latest scheme but if it given the go-ahead work could start in June. The plan is to overhaul the restaurant with zoned seating areas for families and others who use the restaurant.

It will be based on bright colours. Work on the Oldbury site would take around three weeks to complete. It is likely that during the first week of work the drive-through will be closed while the restaurant remains open and during the second and third week the restaurant will be closed but the drive- through will be open.

The work at the restaurant in Brickhouse Lane South, Great Bridge, should start in March and the new look there is likely to cost in the region of £400,000.

McDonald's spokeswoman Alison Purves said: "The restaurants would be zoned as people go for different reasons, so if someone is going for a cup of coffee there will be somewhere to sit and there will be somewhere for families."

The changes are based on an Al Fresco concept and the signs on the restaurant will all be replaced.

McDonald's has several branches around the borough including All Saints Way, West Bromwich High Street and Grove Lane, Cape Hill. The scheme in Oldbury is set to be considered in the next few weeks.
