A building firm has gone into administration, plunging housing developments in the Black Country into crisis and costing dozens of jobs.

A building firm has gone into administration, plunging housing developments in the Black Country into crisis and costing dozens of jobs.

David Payne Homes Limited, based in Bromsgrove, is the latest victim of the housing crisis. Administrators KPMG were called in on February 6, shortly after the firm made 20 of its 37 staff redundant.

KPMG is now pledging to try to keep the business trading with a skeleton staff of 17, but developments in Kidderminster, Dudley and Stourbridge are at risk.

Construction has already started at the sites in Imperial Avenue, off Hurcott Road, Kidderminster; Burton Road, Dudley; and Chawn Hill, Stourbridge;
