A mother-of-two who was shot twice by her millionaire boyfriend at their luxury South Staffordshire home has left hospital.
Catering firm boss Julie Rees, aged 47, was discharged yesterday after a week of recovering from her injuries.
She was treated at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke-on-Trent after being shot by Howard Worthington at their £900,000 home in Hyde Mill Lane, Brewood, on January 29.
Police later found 52-year-old Mr Worthington's body in a nearby field with fatal gunshot wounds. It is thought he turned the gun on himself after targeting Mrs Rees.
It has emerged that the four-times married businessman had a gun confiscated by police a month before the shooting and was on bail when he died.
Mrs Rees had lived with the former steel company owner since 2006 and ran Creative Catering from their home. It is understood that she is now being supported by family and friends.
