Letter: Further to your report on Wolverhampton's Community Safety Awards (January 15), I had the privilege of attending this ceremony in the mayoral suite.

On behalf of Bilston North Local Neighbourhood Partnership, I would like to congratulate all of the recipients of awards from across the city who give up their time to help make a difference in their communities.

In particular, I would like to pay tribute to the 10 volunteers from Bilston North who received awards at this ceremony - Brenda Barker MBE, Annette Benbow, Theresa Brienza, Eric Charles, Dean Hyde, Joe and Betty Price, Ron Rollason, Doreen Rowley and Carol Stokes.

Thank you to all of these people who work tirelessly in their communities, whether it be campaigning on traffic issues, assisting the neighbourhood manager with environmental initiatives or running a local youth club. Their hard work and commitment helps to make the neighbourhoods of Bilston North better places to live.

I am delighted that these dedicated individuals have been recognised in this way and congratulations to all of them.

Cllr Phil Page, Chairman, Bilston North Local Neighbourhood Partnership.
