Three in hospital after pile-ups
A woman with serious head injuries was taken to hospital after being cut free from a car by firefighters after a three-vehicle smash on the A34 in Stafordshire today.


She was one of three people were taken to hospital after crashes brought traffic chaos to Staffordshire today.
The three car pile-up happened between Stafford and Cannock at 7.09am.
A pregnant woman in a second car had already been released and was taken to hospital because of her condition. The third vehicle involved in the crash in Cannock Road, Wildwood, was a parked lorry.
The road was blocked in both directions. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact Stafford police station on 0300 123 4455.
Earlier a Burntwood road was closed and a lorry driver taken to hospital after his vehicle overturned scattering its load across the carriageway.
Police were called to the B5011 Ogley Hay Road at around 5.50am where a lorry was on its side .
