A man in his 30s has died after his car careered off an accident blackspot road near Stourbridge and hurtled 20ft down an embankment through a coppice of trees.
A man in his 30s has died after his car careered off an accident blackspot road near Stourbridge and hurtled 20ft down an embankment through a coppice of trees.
The collision, believed to involve only the one car, a Peugeot 306, happened at about 6.55am today on the A456 at Blakedown, following a sharp left hand bend.
The driver of the car, who has not been named by police, is believed to be from the Wyre Forest district.
He was travelling from the Kidderminster direction towards Blakedown when the crash happened.
Crews from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to free the driver. Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Watch Manager Dave Blinston, from the Kidderminster Fire Station, said the car had gone about 20 feet down an embankment and into a small coppice.
Spokesman for West Mercia Police spokesman Lynne Masters said: Weather conditions will be taken into consideration as part of the investigations in to the cause of the collision."
