The opening of a new Tesco Express in Aldridge has been delayed for the second time, bosses said today.
The store in Paddock Lane, which replaced the Aldridge Tavern, was due to open on Thursday.
But manager Claire Allan said this had now been put back and an official date had not been decided.
No reasons for the delay have been revealed. It was originally due to open on November 6 but was put back two weeks.
New store manager Claire Allan said: "We've recruited a great team of people and I'm looking forward to working with my new staff.
"We are delighted to be opening a Tesco Express store in Aldridge and look forward to playing an active role in the local community."
The store has already courted controversy, springing up despite residents campaigning against it claiming it would attract traffic nuisance, yob behaviour and boozing.
Last week Walsall Council granted Tesco permission to sell alcohol between 8am and 11pm against the advice of residents and police.
When it eventually opens the store will open from 6am to 11pm and include a bakery and a cash machine.
