A plea has been made for speed cameras on a road where a 24-year-old woman died.Emma Cleaver, of Shakespeare Road, Chase Terrace, died and a female passenger was badly hurt.
The Vauxhall Corsa they were in collided with a Porsche Boxster in Hanney Hay Road, Burntwood, on Saturday night.
Kathy Watton of Brook Farm - near the accident site between the junction of Meerash Lane and the Triangle Island - said: "It's an appalling stretch of road. It is been used as a rat run since the M6 Toll opened. We get traffic coming through every day. There is a 50mph limit but it needs speed cameras or a reduction in the limit. I'm terrified to walk to the bus stop along the road."
Lichfield district councillor Val Richards, who represents Hammerwich ward, said it had been an accident black spot, but changes with the arrival of the M6 Toll improved the situation on Hanney Hay Road.
A small island at Meerash Lane slowed traffic and she thought it had improved things. "Unfortunately there is still a very nasty bend along that road."
A 42-year-old Burntwood man was arrested in connection with the accident and has been released on bail.
