Emma Cleaver, of Shakespeare Road, died after the Vauxhall Corsa she was driving collided with a Porsche Boxter in Hanney Hay Road.
Friends described Miss Cleaver as "a bubbly, outgoing girl who loved life".
A second woman, also in her 20s and a passenger in the Corsa, was taken to Queens Hospital, Burton, with chest and pelvic injuries
Friends said Miss Cleaver, a former pupil at Chase Terrace Technology College, and a friend had been on their way to McDonalds when the crash happened at about 11pm on Saturday.
The driver of the Porsche, a 42-year-old man from Burntwood, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail.
More than a dozen friends gathered to lay floral tributes to Miss Cleaver at the scene of the crash.
Last night friends gathered at the Royal Oak pub at Sankey's Corner, where Miss Cleaver once worked as a barmaid, to raise a toast.
Serena Harrison, 26, of Lime Grove, Burntwood, said: "Emma was very bubbly, outgoing and she loved life. She will be sadly missed by a lot of people."
Simon Poppit, of Manor Rise, who met Emma when she worked at the Royal Oak, said: "Emma was someone who was happy all the time."
Firefighters battled for 45 minutes to release Miss Cleaver and her companion from the Corsa, which had landed in a ditch. The 24-year-old was rushed to Selly Oak Hospital, where she died.
