The cheeky girls have posed semi-naked for a 2009 calendar to aid a cancer charity – and at least they've kept their wellies on.

The Calendar Girls-style fundraiser was the idea of Eccleshall Young Farmers' Club's new chairman Laura Perry. Kind-hearted members are being photographed in various cheeky rustic poses using farm gates, hay bales and other farmyard items to hide the naughty bits.

The club, which also has members in Stafford and Penkridge, has got sponsorship from local firms to help with the production of 500 calendars which will then be sold to aid the National Alliance of Childhood Cancer Parent Organisations.

Chairman Laura Parry said they were inspired to help NACCPO by Stafford mother Rachel Olley, an operations manager for the charity whose son Connor was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2002 although he is now in remission.

"I think that NACCPO is a very worthwhile charity to be doing this for," she added.

"We are hoping that our calendar will fly off the shelves."

The club aims to have the calendar on sale by November and is planning a launch party to which all sponsors will be invited.

A price for the calendar has yet to be decided on.

The club's past fundraisers have included carol singing and sponsored muck hauling.

Last year members raised £5,000 for local and national good causes.

Laura, aged 22, of Willow Grange Farm, Stafford, said only members over 18-years-old were being photographed for the calendar, which is being shot by Ann Williams, the mother of one of the members.

"The boys were much more willing to take part than the girls, really, who were a bit more nervous, to be honest.

"All the photographs are very tasteful. Everyone has enjoyed doing it – it really has been great fun," she added.

Anyone interested in sponsoring the calendar should contact Laua on 07793 551810.

The 61-strong club has a new members' evening at the Royal Oak pub in Eccleshall on Wednesday at 8.15pm.
