Help to save bus service

Letter: After hearing a rumour about the possible closure of the 530 West Midlands bus service, I contacted the Travel Line.
I was told that on October 26 there will no longer be a 530 West Midlands service in operation.
At the present moment, this provides travel to and from Wolverhampton and Bilston every half hour throughout the day.
This is a particularly popular route, not only for young and the elderly, but also school children and students, especially early morning and late afternoon.
The bus travels through a large estate off the Parkfield Road.
Members of this community and surrounding area rely heavily on this 530 service.
Banga Travel also runs a half hour service on this route, however, members of the public still have to pay some of the fare even if they have purchased a West Midlands bus pass.
That is why most opt for the main 530 service.
There are no other buses on this route.
With the Government encouraging us to use public transport, why on earth is the 530 West Midlands service being stopped?
This is a popular route. Many school children use this bus as it's local, convenient, safe and much in need. I would urge any of your readers who use this service to contact Travel Line on (0871) 2002233 and make their objections.
