Around 10 tethered balloons were lit up by burners to create a stunning night glow at the event on Saturday evening.

The balloons were lit up to a choreographed musical display followed by a spectacular fireworks extravaganza which capped off a day of fun for people who visited the event.

During the day children enjoyed guest appearances from Enid Blyton children's books characters and Noddy and Big Ears. There were fun fair rides on the day including the traditional waltzers and dodgems.

Trevor Read, from KC Promotions Hot Air Balloon Team, said: "We really enjoy demonstrating at these events and the night glows are really popular with the public because they are spectacular. It is great to come to Walsall and I really hope people have enjoyed themselves." The night time display featured traditional balloon shapes but during the day people enjoyed demonstrations of balloons in the shape of a bunch of bananas, a glass full of lager and a jumbo jet.

One family enjoying the event was Adrian and Louise Tolley who brought along their two children Leah, aged five and four-year-old Helen.

Mr Tolley said: "It has been a really fantastic day and the kids have had a great time. The balloons have been really impressive."
