A Coseley father-and-son team has been presented with an award for the quality of their pub's real ale.
Ron and Paul Reynolds run The Horse and Jockey pub, Robert Wynd, Coseley, which they took over last July.
The pub was out of use and had a reputation as a trouble spot when they moved in.
Now Paul Reynolds, who manages the pub from day-to-day, said the pub boasts a friendly atmosphere and is enjoying a resurgence in popularity. The pub has been given a Cask Mark award for the quality of its real ales. The body, which champions real ale in pubs, hands out the awards after making a string of visits to assess the quality of the beer on offer.
Paul Reynolds said: "It was a challenge when we took over because the pub didn't have a great reputation and it was our first time running a pub.
"But around £300,000 was spent on the refurbishment and we have gradually encouraged the right sort of clientele back."
