The Amazing Feet Running Club's 12th race around Wyre Forest attracted 343 competitors from the Black Country, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, North Wales and Coventry.

Locally, runners came from Dudley Kingswinford Running Club, Halesowen Athletics Club and Kidderminster and Stourport Running Club.

Organisers said this year's conditions were perfect for running with glorious weather and firm ground underfoot, apart from one boggy two-mile section.

Runners set off from the visitors' centre in Callows Hill at 11am following the main track down into the forest before following the course of a stream and heading back up the hill to the finishing post.

The tough eight-mile course had to be altered slightly for the first time in its history because last year's floods washed away a bridge. The event was won by Dave Mansbridge, from Telford Athletics Club.
