Festive Maria for Siobhan
Fans of Staffordshire singing sensation Siobhan Dillon – who narrowly missed out on winning hit BBC talent contest How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? – can see her in action in a Christmas special.
The talented 23-year-old will be reunited with her fellow Marias for the star-studded extravaganza When Joseph Met Maria, which will be screened on the BBC on Christmas Eve.
Staffordshire rallied behind Siobhan, from Lichfield, as she battled to land the leading role in a West End production of popular musical The Sound of Music.
Theatre impressario Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber sang Siobhan's praises on the show but despite a string of knockout performances Siobhan eventually took third place behind runner-up Helena Blackman and winner Connie Fisher, who went on to reprise Julie Andrews' famous role.
But judge and theatre producer David Ian saw the former Friary High School pupil's potential and cast her in Grease in the role of Patty Simcox – fulfilling her dream of treading the boards in the West End.
When Joseph Met Maria will feature a duet between Connie Fisher and fellow West End star Lee Mead.
