Alfie, of Bentley, Walsall, drives his parents round the bend with his obsession for darts.

When he wakes up every morning he wants to play darts straight away, he travels in the car with a special foam set of arrows and he loves watching the sport on TV.

When the Express & Star featured Alfie's story earlier this month his mother Kerry revealed his dream was to meet Manley and our sports reporter Steve Madeley set about making it come true. When the darts star was in Wolverhampton to take part in the Grand Slam Darts competition held at the Civic Hall it posed the perfect opportunity.

Kerry said: "When he walked backstage and he saw Peter Manley his face just dropped.

"He was gobsmacked and shocked. Then Alfie held out his hands and Peter picked him up.

"He was so nice and gave Alfie his darts to hold. He was delighted. He told me to make sure Alfie carries on as he does and admitted Alfie probably trains more than he did. He also said hello to Alfie when he walked into the competition and Alfie was made up."

Manley said: "It's fantastic to see him interested in darts at such a young age.

"It was a pleasure to meet him and his family and hopefully he can keep up his interest and can take up the sport himself in the future."

Alfie took to the sport when he and his mother were watching television one day and since then he has became obsessed with it.

He has three dart boards in the lounge and the family's sofa at their home in Poplar Avenue, is now covered by a throw to hide all the dart holes made during Alfie's practice sessions.
