Plea for poppy collectors

The Burntwood and District branch of the Royal British Legion is appealing for collectors to help with the annual Poppy Appeal.

Branch secretary Joan Davison said they needed people to help sell poppies at Sankey's Corner and Burntwood Island on November 3 and 10.

The branch standard will be carried in the annual Remembrance parade in Burntwood on Sunday, November 11.

There is a service at Burntwood Memorial Hall at 10am followed by the parade around the town.

Chase Terrace scouts will also be taking part in a Remembrance parade on the same day.

They march from their HQ, Ironstone Road to St John's Church, High Street at 10.45am for a service and to lay a wreath. To help the branch contact Joan on 01543 671655.
