Villa boss Martin O'Neill says Shaun Maloney should be fit for Saturday's home clash against West Ham.

Maloney missed Monday's 4-4 draw at Tottenham after twisting his ankle in the Carling Cup defeat with Leicester a week ago.

But the Scottish international has now recovered and could well challenge Luke Moore for a place against the Hammers.

"Shaun will be fit for Saturday with a bit of luck," said O'Neill.

"He was looking quite good for Spurs and then on Sunday he just didn't feel right.

"Patrik Berger injured himself in training again - the same injury. But he's feeling a lot better and the scans that we got back yesterday have given us half decent news."

Curtis Davies plays for Villa reserves tonight as they travel to Portsmouth hoping to keep their 100 per cent record.
