Big idea fails to solve neglect
Having a large screen sited somewhere around the city centre is another example of "Oh yes, that's a good idea".

Our council should be ashamed of considering such a venture, when so much has to be done already that is not being done, for example Lyndale Park Estate, Wednesfield.
It's about time the council spent some of the council tax money paid in over many years by Wednesfield South residents.
In the streets, or should I say side turn-offs, off Silverton Way, some have a street sign with no name of that street, some that are damaged need replacing, some are vandalised, some words are blanked out or scratched out, and graffiti is sprayed on many.
We talk a lot about our NHS but you can see the efforts taking place for a better service.
So before local councillors come up with such ideas, could I ask all the party councillors of Wednesfield South to get up and about now, like you did before polling day, and see for yourselves what needs to be done.
It seems Ashmore Park gets its problems sorted, which is thanks to the efforts to their elected councillors, so why can't Wednesfield South councillors do the same?
If you like, I will escort you around Lyndale Park Estate.
I have been a resident for more than 45 years, and I can tell you we have fallen behind.
So pull your fingers out, and do the job you've been elected for. Our local MP could take a stroll and see for himself. Sorry if I sound like a bigot.
Weeds are growing in the gutters because the road surface is breaking down, while uneven footpaths sloping badly towards the road make it impossible to walk on in the winter.
The footpaths have subsided in places since cables were laid some years ago. There are many senior citizens on Lyndale being forced to walk in the road when it's icy, and many who don't venture out in such conditions.
So give Lyndale Park the service it's paying its council tax for.
