No need for green bins

I write after reading your article "One man protest at green bin collections", where Roger Asron has dumped his bin outside Sandwell Council House. I honestly say I don't blame him.

We (other residents and myself) had the green bins delivered in the middle of March. Why? I don't know, as we live in flats and have communal gardens, so no need of a green bin!

On the day the bins were delivered I rang the number attached to the bin, explained that I didn't need it and therefore asked them to kindly collect it. They said they would, but it could take up until the end of April.

It is now May 3 and the bin is still outside awaiting collection, and has had to be stored by a wall because of the menace of it blowing over in strong winds.

However Mahoob Hussain states: "If someone does not want their garden waste bin they only have to let us know and we will collect it from them."

How long does it take for the council to collect – I've already waited six weeks. No wonder the council tax has gone up again, because the council appears not to know what it is doing!
