Trust working at involvement

South Staffordshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is hosting an event to enable people to find out more about its pioneering work with the NHS National Centre for Involvement.

South Staffordshire Healthcare has been asked to pilot some work with the centre, looking at how people can be involved in health care.

The project will focus on getting feedback from hard to reach groups and will initially look at learning disability and older adults services across South Staffordshire and Shropshire as the two services integrate.

The trust is keen to encourage involvement by service users, carers and the community and hopes that working with the National Centre for Involvement will highlight additional ways of encouraging feedback.

A key opportunity for people to get involved is through membership of the trust which is free, doesn't need any special qualifications, and enables people to find out more about local services and how they can play their part in influencing improvements and developments.

The event, which will be held in the Learning Centre, St George's Hospital, Stafford on Friday, which will also celebrate the launch of Involving People in Healthcare Policy and Practice, written by Dr Susie Green, one of the trust's governor members.
