All the break-ins were at car parks at the Clent Hills and Lickey Hills.

Despite stepping up patrols at the sites and issuing warnings to visitors, police say the problems are showing no signs of easing.

Two victims are coming forward almost every week to complain vehicles have been broken into while they were walking over the hills.

West Mercia Police spokesman Lynne Masters said: "We have issued a warning nearly every week in the local press and we have posters up at the sites, but we still seem to be getting break-ins It could be because many of the people live outside the area and don't see the warnings and that is why we are looking at the talking signposts."

Police are planning to install talking signposts at car parks which will warn people as they get out of their cars not to leave any valuables behind.

One victim, a woman from Oldbury had her purse, along with her daughter's, stolen from bags hidden under the seats of their Mazda on the Walton Hill car park, Clent Hills between 1pm and 2.15pm on April 29.
