Blind eye to real problem
Re the letter from T N Cartwright concerning the closure of the recycling centre next to Huntington Park. Both the police and Dudley MBC will always take the easy way when dealing with hooligans.
Re the letter from T N Cartwright concerning the closure of the recycling centre next to Huntington Park. Both the police and Dudley MBC will always take the easy way when dealing with hooligans. In the case of the recycling bins, instead of dealing with the problem, both police and the council turn a blind eye.
I write with some experience. When I lived in Teme Road, on the Tan House estate, we had our fair share of yobbish behaviour. On phoning the police I was told more than once it was kids being kids, which is as far removed from that as possible.
They will never come out to deal with it. The council aren't much better. Their answer, as always, is that the yobs have caused a problem for many years and we are powerless to do anything about these thugs.
As many people may be aware, you drive so much as one mile an hour over the speed limit, or drop one crisp packet, and not only the council but also the police are down on you like a ton of bricks. What needs to happen is for everyone to get on to their MPs and maybe, just maybe, someone will deal with these things.
