It's a modern-day phenomenon where anything from cars to clothes can be bought and sold at the touch of a button. Now a new course in Wolverhampton is teaching people the tricks and tips they need to become a successful eBay seller and make the most of the famous on-line marketplace.

The one-day event at the City of Wolverhampton College is aimed at those who want to learn the best ways to sell on-line.

Attending the first course, Ann Campbell, a hypnotherapist from Bilston, said: "I really wanted to learn to start selling on ebay. I make my own CDs and want to start selling a selection of them on the internet. I hope to progress on to the next level of the course in four weeks' time."

Tirath Cane, aged 38, of Penn Fields, a deaf student who came on the course with the assistance of a signer, is moving house shortly and hopes to declutter her home and make some cash to help with the move. She said: "I want to pay off my credit cards so I can make a fresh start."

The next session of eBay for Beginners is at the Paget Road campus of the college on Saturday, from 9am to 2.30pm. Further sessions are planned in future depending on interest.
