Menace of the scooter tootler
Even if you ignore the very large lady riding around Asda on a Saturday, at full speed and with no regard for life nor limb, it is impossible to ignore the peril that is now commonplace on all our roads and pavements.

In the last month I have encountered four of these machines on main roads, once at busy traffic lights on the way to Merry Hill before Christmas. The rider had no care for the traffic turning around him.
Recently an elderly gent rode with his grandchild sitting on the front around the island in West Brom. This must have made the machine unstable. What would have happened if the child had fallen off under a car?
Only the other day we were met on a busy road by a machine with no lights on a busy road as it got dark. It was in the middle of the road and there were cars each side. There was a bus behind him!
It is time for legislation on these machines to be toughened up. If they are going on the road they should have registration, a licence plate, pay tax and be insured so if they cause any accidents someone can pay the bills.
They should also have to take driving lessons and a road test.
It is time Parliament tightened up on what is becoming a deadly problem.
