Stop moaning and just leave
People who complain about interest rate rises, council tax increases, crime and a multitude of other problems in this country do have a solution - leave.

I have recently arrived back (temporarily) from living in Northern Cyprus where 5,000 ex-pats who used to complain about exactly the same things are now living in what can sometimes be seen as a paradise, and laughing at the people who are still here.
Of course they have problems as any person who emigrates will tell you, such as lack of electricity and water at times or rogue builders. But at least they are not paying through the nose for their houses or the utilities and the situation, unlike here it seems, is only going to get better.
Those problems are also offset by the laid-back pace of life, the constant sunshine, lack of crime and the knowledge that they have sold their over-priced houses in England and bought a nicer one at a fraction of the price, banking the rest of the money.
Most people who have emigrated in my experience would not entertain returning to the UK, and apart from coming back to see relatives, they don't even want to visit the country.
Of course it's not for everyone but the opportunities, including business and work ones, are there for the people who have the foresight to make it happen instead of staying here and moaning about the state of this pitiful country.
