After reading of the plight of the residents of Maypole Road, I would like to add further embarrassment to Sandwell Council.

In 2006, I phoned on more than one occasion for my dustbin to be emptied as the binmen just passed our address by for no apparent reason. We have a dustbin cupboard, on the front of our property, as do many of the other houses in our street, and is approximately six inches from the road.

As we have lived in this house for more than 30 years, I would imagine that the majority of binmen, at one time or another, would be aware of the location of the bins. We have waited patiently for the rubbish to be eventually emptied but not on the specified day. We would be included on the next scheduled collection.

The household rubbish obviously accumulates between collections, thus creating extra for the binmen to remove.

Would I be correct in thinking that I am paying for a service that I am not receiving?
