Head of mathematics Eileen Crossley, who hosted the event, said: "It was a fantastic way of conveying that numbers and maths can be fun.
"It also engaged a whole year group in numerous calculations and students had a lot of fun. Unfortunately, the winners only got chocolates and mathematical pens as we just could not stretch to money, let alone £1 million.
"The students had already been involved in preliminary rounds which were designed to choose those who took part in the final in front of classmates in one of the main halls."
