Royston Edensor complained to Stafford's Tesco Extra store that the 'Talking Nev' toy he had bought for his young son was using a foul word.
Bosses removed the product from the shelves on Wednesday night and Tesco head office said it was investigating the matter.
But, by yesterday lunch-time, the toy was back on sale at the Newport Road store.
Mr Edensor, 34, of Lawrence Street, Stafford, said: "I saw the toy in Tesco and thought it was a great gift for my four-year-old son Sebastien because he is a big fan of the CBeebies programme the bear features on."
He said he pressed the toy's arm a few times to test how it worked and was "appalled" to hear what sounded like a swear word. He said: "I was disgusted and complained to the manager."
After spotting the toy back on sale, Mr Edensor said: "I'm outraged they have just started re-selling them again."
David Nieberg, a spokesman for Tesco, said: "The toy was removed from sale as a precautionary measure."
Clive Jones, Managing Director of Golden Bear said that at no point does the bear use a swear word.
