An "arrogant" policeman dragged a Black Country woman into her bedroom after their first date and raped her, a court heard.
Pc Gopal Dehar is accused of dragging the woman in her 20s into the bedroom of her Bloxwich home and having sex with her after returning from an evening out in June 2003.
Dehar, aged 34, formerly of Franchise Street, Darlaston, denies the charge and is standing trial at Warwick Crown Court, in Birmingham.
Outlining the case yesterday, Graeme Simpson, for the prosecution, said Dehar had received the woman's phone number from another police officer who met her after a break-in.
They had been texting each other and the messages became more flirtatious and included pictures being sent, which were not indecent. The woman was described as being "up for it."
She then agreed to go on a date with Dehar and visited a pub and restaurant in Shifnal where they enjoyed a few drinks. Mr Simpson said: "They danced together and he made a clumsy attempt to kiss her. He made it quite clear he was attracted to her."
Mr Simpson said although Dehar went home with the woman she made it clear she did not want him to stay.
After leaving the property he returned 20 minutes later after sending her a text message.
When the buzzer sounded she let him in, worried about him waking the neighbours.
Dehar was said to have kissed her and she tried to push him away. Mr Simpson said: "He grabbed her by the arms and dragged her into the bedroom. By now he had become arrogant and said she didn't mean it when she didn't want him to stay."
He then allegedly had sex with the woman.
Dehar has since been suspended from Darlaston police. When interviewed about the alleged incident he claimed he was impotent and his last sexual relationship was years previously. He insisted he was not attracted to the woman.
Although the alleged offence happened in 2003 no official complaint was received until July 2005. The court heard the victim did not report the alleged rape, assuming she would not be believed.
The trial continues.
