Clear case of us and them

If it is as they state, will they immediately start setting a good example by exchanging their gas-guzzlers for green cars?

So far as green taxes are concerned, will these be fair to all? Any fair-minded person cannot expect pensioners to pay the same rates as MPs. Perhaps it should be five per cent of one's income all round, but even this would hurt pensioners.

As for taxing gas-guzzlers for parking on the road outside the house, my gas guzzler is a 1600cc Ford H-reg Sierra because I cannot afford better. It has for the past few years done less than 5,000 miles per year because I cannot afford the fuel and at 75 I am back on a bicycle for local trips where possible.

It does stand out that the main cause of global warming is over population - what are the politicians going to do about that?

Recently the BBC Radio 4 programme On Your Farm came from Barra. The Barra MP said that he goes to Parliment each day and back by plane and train. If it is true what a totally irresponsible example, a clear cut case of us and them.
