Showcase for talent
The Mayor tends to be involved with looking after traditions and all things ancient in the city, so it is very rewarding to be able to be involved with something for the younger element of Lichfield. It is even better to be helping a showcase event of some of the best local Lichfield talent in the most prestigious venue and in front of what should be a large crowd.

This Friday, November 4, from 7.30pm in the Guildhall, there will be a diverse mix of music with Slippery Nipple (classic rock) who have received a good deal of local media coverage, Sue Sutherland (jazz singer /guitarist), Jake Morgan (vocals, guitar and harmonica) and Listen to Johnny (pop band).
All of this can be seen for £8 (£7 to Lichfield District Arts Association members and £4 students), with some of the proceeds going to Mayor's and Sheriff's charities.
As if that is not enough incentive to get to the Guildhall, there are a number of donated raffle prizes. These include tickets for two people to go the VIP suite at the Carling Academy, Birmingham, to see Amy Winehouse, by invitation of the Mayor and Mayoress, with travel and drinks included.
Tickets are available from the LDAA office in Bore Street or the City Council office in Wade Street.
Cllr Colin Greatorex, Borrowcop Lane, Lichfield.
