Attacks not the problem

A reader complains about the probable ban on dogs and their owners from Northycote Park. The problem is not attacks on the farm animals but the way a lot of owners regard the area as a dogs' toilet. I help with several walks in the park and instead of admiring the scenery it's a case of eyes down and pass back the warning to anyone following.

We do see a few responsible owners who pick up after their dogs have relieved themselves and deposit their plastic bags in the bins provided and I feel sorry if they lose access to this area, but this is a minority. The same problem applies to Fibbersley Nature Reserve and Rough Wood. Loss off facilities is due to irresponsible owners.
