Our debt to cricket club
I and my colleagues of the Coseley Support Group for Compton Hospice would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Penn Cricket Club in helping us to raise funds. In July the England and Wales Cricket Board sent a team to play in memory of John Moore.
We were invited to attend and raise funds for Compton Hospice. The management, players, members and spectators were all marvellous; generous with their donations as well as their hospitality.
In August a six-a-side tournament was held at the club to support the benefit year for Darren Maddy of Leicestershire CC. Despite the inclement weather it was another great day out.
Not only did the club support the hospice in raising funds, but we all made new friends who showed a great interest in our work, which should prove beneficial in the future.
We all enjoyed the days at Penn CC and found the experience to be rewarding, especially the warm reception given to us by members, players and staff.
Many thanks to all involved.
David Clifford, Coseley Support Group for Compton Hospice.
