Enjoy life and take the bus

Further to the benefits of taking the bus topic, I obtained my senior citizen's pass a couple of years ago and after not travelling by bus for more than 40 years I made my first trip to Wolverhampton by bus instead of by car and found it to be a most pleasant 45-minute ride through the countryside of Wolverhampton without the hassle of travelling along the A449.

I now travel to all the local towns by bus and find it an excellent service - especially to Birmingham. I am in no hurry to get anywhere and you see all the sights you miss by car especially upstairs on a double-decker.

I would recommend to any senior citizen who gets fed up just sitting at home watching tv, or on a rainy day when you feel there's nothing to do, to just hop on a bus and go where it takes you and enjoy it. You come back to where you started eventually.

You have all day to visit friends you haven't seen for some time or to visit museums etc. We have a wealth of them in the Black Country.

I can particularly recommend the journey to Coventry, seeing places that were only names on a map previously.

The main thing to remember is that the pleasure is in the journey and not how long it takes to get there. If you have a pass, enjoy it to the full - they may not last forever with this government.
