I must take issue with the Log On With Williams column, concerning family history research. Genes Reunited serves a different purpose from the other websites mentioned. Its aim is to put people in touch with other family members and enable the exchange of information, indeed all the records are supplied by members - that's why there aren't so many.
I for one have discovered more than one lost cousin through the site as well as receiving family photos, memorabilia and family stories. I've enjoyed the e-mail contact with other members and have saved an enormous amount of time by sharing information.
It is not an alternative to the other genealogical websites but a useful addition (and I might say essential for anyone wishing to learn more about their family than dry dates, especially 1901 onwards when tracing people can become more difficult).
I should add I am not paid by Genes Reunited!
