Secret plan at hospital?

The sorry saga of job losses and bed closures continues at New Cross Hospital. Demoralised staff are threatened with disciplinary action if they dare to add hospital milk to their tea, water dispensers are removed from the ward areas and staff are told they can drink tap water.

In the meantime we learn that £185,000 has been paid out to consultants who no doubt come up with more penny pinching schemes to save money for the cash-strapped hospital!

At the end of the day the hospital board admits it will never be able to repay escalating debts.

Is there a hidden agenda here?

Government money has been granted to a Walsall hospital to be considerably upgraded. l wonder if the plan to amalgamate New Cross and Walsall hospitals is to be resurrected despite angry opposition from both Wolverhampton and Walsall people when the idea was first mooted.
