Come and have a say

With regard to the licensee of the Talbot Inn, Bewdley, who has organised a meeting to discuss ways of preventing crime in the town: although I am pleased that he cares enough to organise this meeting I believe the way forward is for the public to attend the PACT (Partners And Communities Together) meetings.

There is a meeting tonight at the High School starting at 7pm.

I urge all those who care about our town, or have an issue to raise, to attend these meetings where they will be welcome to have their say.

Can I also remind everyone that if they see any antisocial behaviour to inform the police by dialling 08457 444666 and asking for a crime number.

By doing this your report will become a statistic and the police will have to act on it. Don't leave it to someone else.

Bewdley Town Council is at present urging the district council to install CCTV in the town centre and have already made available £5,000 towards its costs. It is now up to the district council to ensure they are installed.

Cllr Paul Gittins, Police Liaison Representative for Bewdley Town Council.
