Vandalism by planners
If you want a monumental act of vandalism to take place, don't rely on some spotty youth high on a few cans of lager, just leave it to Walsall Planners. They will not let you down. Instead of having something pleasing and tasteful on the newly cleared Church Hill, let's build an Asda.
In order to accommodate the extra traffic in this historic area just blast through some wider roads and the developers will give you a few bob to cover the cost of the tarmac
The obliteration of the island at the Arboretum proves beyond doubt that the planners have no soul.
Many motorway junctions are enhanced by landscaped islands and they have part-time traffic lights.
Are the planners in Walsall completely lacking in imagination?
Perhaps the people of Walsall do not know what is going on or maybe they do not care.
It may be too late, I hope not. Please salvage something from this sorry mess to retain a little of Walsall's character and heritage.
