Chitty was a real tonic

I feel I must write to tell you about our fantastic night out at the Birmingham Hippodrome. I had bought tickets to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for my husband's birthday. We were really looking forward to it, but a week before the performance I was told I would be going into hospital for an operation the day before.

We gave our tickets to my Mom and Dad as we knew we wouldn't be able to go together.

I went into hospital on the Tuesday, only to be told that my operation had to be postponed to a later date. I was, of course, upset, but it meant that we could go and see Chitty after all.

We had front row seats and couldn't wait for it to start and as soon as it did it met all our expectations.

Nothing could prepare us for the overwhelming feeling when Chitty appeared on stage, and best of all when it started to fly. It was amazing.

I sat in awe as Chitty flew around and around, up and down. I can only imagine how the children who were watching felt.

I would like to thank all the cast and the people backstage for making our evening a very special one. My husband enjoyed his birthday treat, it was out of this world.
