It's Friday afternoon. What's on your mind?

Every Friday is very different for me. I could be at work in the West End or on tour or I could be at home.

Who normally has the pleasure of your company at the weekend?

My wife (former Any Dream Will Do judge Denise Van Outen) and daughter (the couple's daughter Betsy was born in 2010).

How do you prepare for a big night out?

Usually by having a few drinks at home before heading out!

What's your favourite party outfit?

It has to be a really scary Halloween outfit!

You've just arrived at the bar. What's your first drink?

My favourite tipple would be a good glass of red wine.

What is your favourite nightspot and why?

Maggie's in Chelsea is a fantastic place to have a really good party!

What tune always gets you on the dance floor?

Any thing from the 1980's!!!

It's a sunny Saturday. What are you up to?

It could either be up to two shows or I could be at home in the country.

What's your most memorable weekend ever and why?

One of my most memorable weekends has to be a visit to Dublin. It was really fantastic.

What's the recipe for a perfect night in?

It has to be a good bottle of red and a good DVD.

Favourite DVD? And what would you eat while watching it?

My favourite DVD would be The Shawshank Redemption and I would be eating Revels!

Sunday breakfast – cooked or continental?

It has to be a cooked breakfast!

Sunday lunch – home-cooked or down the pub?

It would be down the pub!

You've got a whole weekend off and a wad of money in your back pocket - which country or city would you head to?

It would actually be at a wonderful place called The Hotel, Watergate Bay in Newquay. I have spent some wonderful times there!

What's your favourite UK city and why is it special to you?

Probably London as it has great theatre, museums and galleries etc. It also has a great night life.

What's your most memorable show or performance and why?

My most memorable performance would be the Concert for Diana when I sung at Wembley Stadium. Singing to 70,000 people was pretty immense.

Do you have a favourite venue or destination when touring with your shows?

Not particularly as we're fortunate enough to have some great venues around the UK. From The Palace Theatre in Manchester, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Bath Theatre Royal. There are so many that are unique in their own way.

If weekends were three days long instead of two, how would you spend the extra 24 hours and why?

I'd spend it at our home in Kent. We're based out in the country and I love how laid back it is out there. Beautiful countryside and villages with great pubs – I love it.

* Lee Mead plays Symphony Hall, Birmingham, on Sunday, February 26, 2012. To book, visit www.raymondgubbay.co.uk or call 0121 780 3333. The Love Album is out now.
