As the clock counts down towards the start of the V Festival at Weston Park,

Dawn Woodhouse

, the festival's co-ordinator talks to us about her perfect weekend and what goes on in the busy run-up to the epic annual two-day music event.

It's Friday afternoon. What's on your mind?

The buzz of seeing everybody arrive at V Festival looking so happy is what springs to mind first – that and hoping everybody has a great and safe weekend.

Who normally has the pleasure of your company at the weekend?

85,000 very good friends . . . I tend to flit between areas of the site at the weekend, but my colleague Andy and I make sure we take a few hours out, we pretend we are customers and go and have a pint of Guinness up in the Gourmet Garden and a bite to eat. Then we watch a few bands on the 4 Music Stage and go for a good walk around the arena and listen to all the customers talking.

How do you prepare for a big night out?

This made me laugh because I tend not to have big nights out but it did make me think of my 20s, back then I used to listen to Fast Love really loud, drink a few wines with mates then head to a club. Now it's more go for a bite to eat straight after work, but if I do have a big night out I like to pamper myself with a soak in the bath and put a posh frock on.

What's your favourite party outfit?

I don't wear dresses very often at all, so for me it would have to be an after show party and I would be in jeans, top (maybe even a sparkly one) and boots.

You've just arrived at the bar. What's your first drink?

A very dry, very cold white wine.

What is your favourite nightspot and why?

Brixton Academy and the Camden Roundhouse. Both are fantastic gig venues. I am more a pub than nightclub person and my new favourite pub is the Lion and Unicorn in Kentish Town. Here, close to Weston, my best pub is probably the bar in the Parkhouse Hotel – we see a lot of that place!

What tune always gets you on the dance floor?

Ha ha, Fast Love! Not really – I do get stuck into some 70's disco tunes occasionally but I'm not the best dancer in the world by any stretch.

It's a sunny Saturday. What are you up to?

I would take my gorgeous nephew Stanley out for a walk then meet friends for a pub lunch, somewhere with a nice garden that doesn't make you feel like you're in London.

What's the recipe for a perfect night in?

Cooking for friends or being cooked for, nice wine and a good laugh.

Favourite DVD? And what would you eat while watching it?

I absolutely love the two Elizabeth films and can watch them over and over – such an amazing cast. I'd be munching my way through a box of Maltesers.

Sunday lunch – home-cooked or down the pub?

I love both, a Sunday roast is one of my favourite meals. I do love a good pub roast with my mates and my friend Ben can cook an absolutely mean roast, the best.

Where and how do you like to relax?

Usually at home, I like reading and watching films. I've just got into The Inbetweeners, it's been a bit stressful getting ready for V Festival so that has made me laugh out loud – a great stress reliever.

Sunday breakfast – cooked or continental?

Cooked for sure, but I'm a bacon or sausage butty girl with lots of HP sauce.

You've got a whole weekend off and a wad of money in your back pocket – which country or city would you head to?

Italy, it's a gorgeous place with gorgeous people. I would eat in the best restaurants and buy some nice leather boots, a jacket or two and take a friend with me.
