It's Friday afternoon. What's on your mind?
I'm usually gigging on a Friday and Saturday so I'm thinking about that. It's what I still love doing and it's often on my mind.
Who normally has the pleasure of your company at the weekend?
It's normally my wife and kids. I also have two grandchildren that I enjoy spending time with. They are quite young so they keep me on my toes.
How do you prepare for a big night out?
A big night out for me now is probably a gig. We played at the O2 in London last week. That was pretty big. Preparations for that include not eating before the gig or I get hiccups on stage. I don't want that!
What's your favourite party outfit?
I usually wear a black mohair suit and long coat.
You've just arrived at the bar. What's your first drink?
Well I don't drink really so I usually just have a very weak shandy. I'm never really in pubs or bars.
What is your favourite nightspot and why?
I don't really go to nightspots, I just play at them. The indigO2 at the 02 in London is pretty cool.
What tune always gets you on the dance floor?
I don't dance for a start but I love all the early rock and roll music. Anything by Jerry Lee Lewis is good for me.
It's a sunny Saturday. What are you up to?
I would usually be preparing for a gig. If it's sunny however I like going down to my allotment near to my home. I will have a potter around there. It's nice to get a bit of fresh air.
What's your most memorable weekend ever and why?
It would probably be while I was playing in my first band The Outlaws. We went on the road with Jerry Lee Lewis and played on a boat across the Channel in 1963.
What's the recipe for a perfect night in?
I don't watch a lot of TV. If I spend the night in with my wife, she usually cooks and we might watch a DVD.
Favourite DVD? And what would you eat while watching it?
We like watching Minder at the moment. But rather than have it on DVD, we just tape it off the TV. We get an Indian takeaway normally or have some fresh fish.
Sunday breakfast - cooked or continental?
I don't really eat breakfast. I usually get up about noon. I don't usually get to bed until 4am. I'll just have a cup of tea.
Sunday lunch - home-cooked or down the pub?
If I'm on the road I'll have lunch in a pub. We played at The Cavern in Liverpool recently and stopped off at a carvery in Buxton. That was very nice.
Where and how do you like to relax?
In front of a piano or on my allotment.
You've got a whole weekend off and a wad of money in your back pocket - which country or city would you head to?
I like going to America. We've got some friends over there. They live in Nashville which is great. I love the music, the people and it's a nice climate.
