How to plan the perfect wedding: Your to-do list
It’s just over a month until heartthrob Prince Harry and his beautiful other half Meghan Markle get hitched in one of the biggest events of 2018. Millions of people around the world will be watching as the couple tie the knot, with some even planning their own weddings at the same time.
Are you counting down the days until you walk down the aisle, or eagerly searching for information about what the royal couple has arranged? Woman has some top tips lined up for what you – and Meghan – should be sorting in the last month of your wedding planning journey:
CHASE YOUR RSVPS
Harry and Meghan will be hot on the heels of Elton John, Barrack Obama and The Spice Girls this month as they eagerly chase their RSVPs.
Couples are advised to phone and message people who have not yet responded to invitations, and collate the information into a spreadsheet or list. This makes it easier to sort out seating plans in the near future.
GO FOR YOUR LAST DRESS FITTING – HOPEFULLY!
Meghan looked glorious in a white gown during her time starring in Suits, so hopefully this month will mark her last trip to the dress-makers.
For peace of mind, you may want to schedule a fitting the week of your wedding. You can always cancel the appointment if you try on the dress before and it fits perfectly.
ENJOY YOUR STAG AND HEN DOS
Prince William will surely be picking out the best costumes and embarrassing photos ready for Harry’s stag do.
Though you often see these infamous parties in film and TV taking part the day before the wedding – we advise leaving a little bit more time, so your big day starts without a sore head!
ASSIGN SEATING
Will the duo seat Queen Elizabeth II next to Dave Grohl or Anthony Joshua? A month before the wedding, we advise that couples put their heads together and assign seating plans.
Draw out table shapes on a layout of the room to help plan place settings. Write the names of female and male guests on different coloured sticky notes so you can move people about without re-sketching the entire setting.
DELEGATE SMALL WEDDING-DAY TASKS
Meghan’s glittering bridal party will have some of the day’s most important tasks on their hands. Choose someone to bustle your dress, someone to carry your things, someone to be in charge of gifts, someone to hand out tips, and someone to be the point person for each vendor – so that all you have to focus on is your big day.
SET TIMES AND LET EVERYONE IN THE PARTY KNOW ABOUT THEM
All couples who are planning a wedding know that it’s stressful – but this can be made so much easier with the implementation of a schedule.
